C A D Y + O L A J I D E
Cady and Mac’s super fun and casual backyard wedding was proof that weddings on a budget can be the best kind of party. Multicolor themed and multicultural in essence with Mac’s family from Nigeria, Cady and Mac meeting in the UK, and Cady having lived temporarily in Rwanda, the day was full of vibrancy, unique traditions, and awesome African dancing. Because so many of their loved ones flew in from such far distances, the wedding was really about their friends and family – a reunion – a time to eat, laugh, and dance together. They even had their friends that own a Mexican restaurant cater the wedding (so yum!).
The dance floor was a homemade Twister dot painted platform and the bridal party members each represented one color of the color spectrum with their attire. Cady’s bouquet contained just about every brightly colored flower currently in bloom and their dessert table was a smorgasbord of candies for guests to make their own wedding favor take home bags . . . every detail reflected the openness and inclusiveness of the couple’s persona; “we love it all.”
When the dancing looks so fun at a wedding that you have to put down your camera to dance a song or two and you stay until the send-off even though they didn’t book you that long, you know you are enjoying your job as a wedding photographer. I laughed, I cried, I ate too much salsa, and I took notes on how to throw a good party.
Thanks Cady and Mac for throwing the best of parties and sharing your beautiful love with all of us!
